Dr Aaron Chambers has returned from sabbatical leave in Southern France in 2016, studying a Diploma of Child Health and doing research in Telemedicine. He has regrettably had to leave Bywater Medical but remains committed to continuity with patients. He is currently practicing on Wednesdays at Comino Medical Centre at 60 Hardgrave Road, West End. Phone 3844 8227.
After completing his medical degree with honours at the University of Queensland, Dr Chambers worked at Nambour Hospital on the Sunshine Coast. He then served in the RAAF as a Doctor during which time he was deployed to the Solomon Islands for humanitarian relief, evacuated wounded servicemen from the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts, and provided healthcare to the F-111 and C17 Squadrons.
Dr Chambers has worked in General Practice since 2006. His interests lie in true Generalist Medicine and simplifying care for patients with complex or chronic health issues. He is passionate about family practice including Paediatrics and Obstetric Care. Dr Chambers has admission rights to Canossa Hospital and cares for residents in Bethesda Caring Centre and Canossa Nursing Home. He sits on the Wesley Mission Brisbane medical advisory committee, and is a surgical assistant for Dr David Chin at the Wesley Hospital and Queensland Eye Institute.
Outside of medicine, Dr Chambers enjoys bike riding, skiing, cooking and spending time with his wife and three young children.
Whilst on sabbatical in southern France, he explored the lifestyle and cultural differences that may help to explain “The French Paradox“. Even if it is not correct, the thought that good food, cheese and wine may help explain this is was enjoyable pursuit! And what is life without enjoyment?
Santé!
